This paper is concerned with the construction of a model structure on the category of locales.\N\NRecall that a model structure on a category \(\mathcal{T}\) is specified by three distinguished collection of morphisms, called cofibrations \(C\), fibrations \(F\) and weak equivalences \(W\) respectively.\N\NA functor \(G:\mathcal{D}\to\mathcal{C}\) between model categories is called a right Quillen equivalence if it admits a left adjoint \(F\), such that\N\begin{itemize}\N\item[1.] \(F\) preserves cofibrations,\N\item[2.] \(G\) preserves fibrations,\N\item[3.] The derived functors form a pair of adjoint equivalences:\N\[\N\mathbb{L}F:\mathrm{Ho}\mathcal{C}\rightleftarrows\mathrm{Ho}\mathcal{D}:\mathbb{R}G.\N\]\N\end{itemize}\N\NModel structures are an important tool in algebraic topology, which can be used to define derived functors and homotopical limits. Quillen's celebrated work established a model structure on the category \(\mathrm{Top}\) of topological spaces.\N\NEbel and Kapulkin generalized Quillen's work to several categories related to the category \(\mathrm{Top}\):\N\NTheorem 4.10 and 4.12. The category \(\mathrm{Sob}\) of Sober spaces admits a model structure such that the inclusion functor \(\iota:\mathrm{Sob}\hookrightarrow\mathrm{Top}\) is a right Quillen equivalence.\N\NTheorem 5.16 and 5.20. The category of pseudo-topological spaces admits a model structure such that the inclusion functor \(\iota:\mathrm{Top}\hookrightarrow\mathrm{PsTop}\) is a right Quillen equivalence.\N\NThe key idea is to study homotopy and define homotopy groups in these categories, by observing that these categories all contain a subcategory of intervals. Using similar method, they further constructed a model structure on the category \(\mathrm{Loc}\) of locales from the model structure of the category \(\mathrm{Sob}\):\N\NTheorem 6.15 and 6.17. There is a model structure on \(\mathrm{Loc}\) such that there is a pair of Quillen equivalences\N\[\N\Omega:\mathrm{Sob}\rightleftarrows\mathrm{Loc}:\mathrm{pt}.\N\]
