Rigidity of proper holomorphic maps between bounded domains have been studied intensively. One direction studies maps between the unit balls, and another studies maps between bounded symmetric domains of higher rank. This paper falls into the second category. There have been earlier works in the case when the target domain has either smaller rank or dimensions, and this paper studies the rigidity problem when the target domain has larger rank and dimension. Specifically, it proves that any proper holomorphic map from \(D^I_{p, p-1}\) to \(D^I_{p,p}\) is a totally geodesic embedding and linearizable.
