Let \(I\) be a finite set, and \(\Delta^I\langle t\rangle\) the polydisc with the coordinate functions \((t_i)_{i\in I}\). Let \(E_i\) denote the divisor on \(\Delta^I\langle t\rangle\) defined by the coordinate function \(t_i\) for \(i\in I\), and let \(E_I=\sum_{i\in I}E_i\). A surjective morphism \(f\) from a complex manifold \(X\) to the polydisc \(\Delta^I\langle t\rangle\) is said to be of semi-stable type if the divisor \(f^*E^I\) is a reduced simple normal crossing divisor on \(X\). The author constructed [\textit{T. Fujisawa}, Compos. Math. 115, 129-183 (1999; Zbl 0940.14007)] a complex \(sA_X(f^*E_i;n)\) for such an \(f\) and showed that the complex is, under certain natural conditions, the \(\mathbb{Q}\)-structure of a cohomological mixed Hodge complex which is expected to be the limit of the Hodge structures on the singular cohomology groups of general fibers. In the article under review the author constructs a filtration \(L(J)\) on \(sA_X (f^*E_i;n)\) for \(J\subset I\) and shows that the spectral sequence induced from the filtration degenerates at \(E_2\)-terms when \(n\geq \dim X-|I|\), under the condition that \(f\) is proper, surjective, and of semi-stable type with all irreducible components of \(f^*E_I\) Kähler.
