The mean Hausdorff dimension of fractals in infinite dimensional spaces is studied. Three classical results of fractal geometry are the calculation of Hausdorff dimension of homogeneous sets in the circle, the coincidence of Hausdorff and Minkowski dimensions for self-similar sets and the calculation of Hausdorff dimension of Bedford-McMullen carpets. These results are transferred to an infinite dimensional setting using mean Hausdorff dimension and metric mean dimension. In a way, these new dimensional theoretical notions dynamicalize classic geometric measure theory. In our view this is an interesting new direction of research in fractal geometry with a connection to the dimension theory of dynamical systems.
