The author studies an example of a triangulated Hopf category related to \(\text{SL}(2)\). In his approach to quantum groups, Lusztig obtained braided deformations of universal enveloping algebras for some nilpotent Lie algebras \(n_+\) together with canonical bases of these braided Hopf algebras. The elements of the canonical basis are contained in a semi-simple Abelian category of semi-simple complexes. To study this category, \textit{L. Crane} and \textit{I. B. Frenkel} proposed a notion of Hopf category and gave an example of a Hopf category related to \(\text{sl}(2)\) [see J. Math. Phys. 35, No. 10, 5136-5154 (1994; Zbl 0892.57014)]. In this paper, the author is discussing an example of a related notion: the triangulated Hopf category. He shows that this category is an equivariant derived category equipped with multiplication and comultiplication functors and structure isomorphisms; in particular it is a monoidal category. Finally, he shows that this new structure does not induce a Hopf category structure in the sense of Crane and Frenkel.
