Let \({\mathcal L}\) be the complex simple Lie algebra \(o(2\ell+1)\), \(g\) the complex superalgebra \(\text{osp} (1,2\ell)\). \textit{R. B. Zhang} found a way to pass from a certain formal deformation of \(U(L)\) to a formal deformation of \(U(g)\) [Lett. Math. Phys. 25, 317-325 (1992; Zbl 0763.17019)]. The aim of the article under review is to reformulate the Zhang transformation in the context of Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebras. The author and \textit{M. Gorelik} have shown that the annihilator of a Verma module over \(g\) is generated by its intersection with the centralizer of the even part of the enveloping algebra [Invent. Math 137, 651-680 (1999; Zbl 0939.17007)]. This is an analogue of Duflo's theorem that the annihilator of a Verma module over \({\mathcal L}\) (or any complex simple Lie algebra) is generated by its intersection with the center of the enveloping algebra. The article under review shows how quantum groups can shed light on the result of the author and Gorelik.
