A spherical triangle is a triangle on the unit sphere for which each side of the triangle is an arc on a great circle of the unit sphere. A spherical triangle is called proper if the length of each side of the triangle is less than \(\pi\) and the area of the triangle is less than \(2\pi\). A spherical triangle is called rational if the lengths of its sides and its area are all rational multiples of~\(\pi\).\N\NIn this paper, the author focuses on determining all the rational spherical triangles. More precisely, the author introduces a conjecture on the solutions to a trigonometric Diophantine equation, and as an implication he showed that the only rational spherical triangles are the ones given by Little and Coxeter. Furthermore, some partial results towards the conjecture have been proved.
