This work focuses on analyzing the containment control problem for PDE-type fuzzy multi-agent systems (MASs). More exactly, the following system of controlled heat-like equations is considered\N\begin{align*}\N\frac{\partial z_i(\varpi,t)}{\partial t} &= \Delta \frac{\partial^2 z_i(\varpi,t)}{\partial \varpi^2} + A_s z_i(\varpi,t) + B_s u_i(\varpi,t), \quad i = 1,2,\ldots,K, \\\N\frac{\partial z_i(\varpi,t)}{\partial t} &= \Delta \frac{\partial^2 z_i(\varpi,t)}{\partial \varpi^2} + A_s z_i(\varpi,t), \quad i = K+1, K+2, \ldots, S,\N\end{align*}\Nendowed with some initial conditions and Neumann boundary conditions. Here \(z_i(\varpi,t) \in \mathbb{R}^n,\; i = 1,2,\ldots,K\) describes the state vector of the \(i\)th follower, and \(z_i(\varpi,t) \in \mathbb{R}^n,\; i = K+1,K+2,\ldots,S\) denotes the state of the \(i\)th leader. The control input of the \(i\)th follower is represented by \(u_i(\varpi,t) \in \mathbb{R}^m\) and \(\Delta\), \(A_s\), and \(B_s\) are appropriate dimensional constant matrices.\N\NThe main objective of this paper is to develop an event-triggered control strategy that reduces communication load across the network while ensuring effective containment control. To this end, the containment error system is first established based on the dynamics of both leaders and followers. A Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is then employed to derive sufficient stabilization conditions for the proposed containment error system. These conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Numerical simulations illustrate the results.
