In order to better understand the synchronization of coupled neurons in a neural network, a stochastic version of the Chialvo map is studied. As stated in the Introduction part of the article, the choice of this model over other models, has been motivated by the observation ``that critical values of noise and coupling significantly enhance network synchronization, a phenomenon not observed in other models in the same way as in this study''. The construction of the considered neuron model is described in the second section of the article. One refers to the Chialvo model introduced in an earlier paper of the authors: Used [\textit{J. Seoane} et al. Chaos Solitons Fractals 183, Article ID 114888, 23 p. (2024; \url{doi:10.1016/j.chaos.2024.114888})]. One intends to generalize the results obtained in this paper.\N\NFurther one considers neurons are connected in a small-world network of N neurons. To induce the heterogeneity within the network, a random mismatch is introduced in a special parameter ``b'' in some neurons of the model. The aim of the study is a numerically analysis of the synchronization of the network an the inter-spike interval (ISI) as a function of the noise intensity introduced in the stochastic model, the coupling strength between neurons and the mismatch strength in the parameter ``b''. Excitatory as well as inhibitory couplings in the small-world network are investigated. Results of the experiments are presented and largely discussed.
