This paper gives a new and short proof of a result by \textit{T. Marquis} and \textit{M. Sabok} [Math. Ann. 377, No. 3-4, 1129--1153 (2020; Zbl 1530.20145)], stating that the orbit equivalence relation induced by the action of a finitely generated hyperbolic group on its Gromov boundary is hyperfinite. The authors construct an explicit Borel injection from the boundary into the space of symbolic sequences over a finite generating set and use hyperbolicity to control the associated tail equivalence classes. This allows them to bypass the geometric techniques involving ray bundles used in earlier approaches, thus simplifying the argument.\N\NAs a further contribution, the authors show that the boundary action has finite Borel asymptotic dimension, a notion introduced to relate large-scale geometry with the complexity of Borel equivalence relations. They derive explicit bounds based on local properties of the Cayley graph, thereby placing the result within the broader framework of Borel coarse geometry.
