Generalized translation operators and their related Markov processes (Q700267)

The author's aim is to establish connections between generalized convolutions in the sense of \textit{V. E. Volkovich} [J. Sov. Math. 47, No. 5, 2685--2699 (1989); translation from Probl. Ustoich. Stokh. Model. 1987, 19--32 (1987; Zbl 0733.60036)] and of \textit{K. Urbanik} [Stud. Math. 83, 57--95 (1986; Zbl 0625.60013)]. Generalized translations, convolution operators \(\tau_0^\mu\) and generalized differential operators \(D^0\) acting on suitable function spaces (on \(\mathbb R_+)\) are of particular interest. In Section 4 the author considers one-parameter convolution semigroups and corresponding Lévy processes [cf. e.g. \textit{Nguyen Van Thu}, Nagoya Math. J. 133, 155--176 (1994; Zbl 0790.60063), in particular for Bessel-Kingman convolutions]. Remark. It should be noted that similar investigations exist in the context of hypergroups resp. convos and semi-convos in the sense of \textit{R. I. Jewett} [Adv. Math. 18, 1--101 (1975; Zbl 0325.42017)].
