The author studies, for \(p, \beta_1, \beta_2\in(0,1),\) a self-similar non-overlapping measure \(b^{p}_{\beta_1 \beta_2}\) which is a generalization of Bernoulli convolutions (the case \(\beta_1=\beta_2)\) . For \(b^{p}_{\beta_1 \beta_2}\), he proves an analogue of a theorem of \textit{Y. Peres} and \textit{B. Solonyak} [Math. Res. Lett. 3, No. 2, 231-239 (1996; Zbl 0867.28001)] about the absolute continuity resp. singularity of Bernoulli convolutions. The measure \(b^{p}_{\beta_1 \beta_2}\) is applied to finding the box dimension and the Hausdorff dimension of the attractor \(\Lambda_{(\beta_1,\beta_2,\tau_1,\tau_2)}\) of two affine contractions \(T_1\) and \(T_{-1}\) in \({\mathbb R}^2:\) \[ T_1(x,y)=(\beta_1x +\beta_1, \tau_1y+\tau_1)\quad\text{and}\quad T_{-}1(x,y)=(\beta_2x +\beta_2, \tau_2y+\tau_2), \] where \(\beta_1+\beta_2\geq 1\) and \(\tau_1+\tau_2< 1.\) The author expresses the box dimension and the Hausdorff dimension of the self-affine measure generated by \((T_1,T_{-1},p,1-p)\) in terms of \(\mathop{\dim_H} b^p_{\beta_1,\beta_2}\) and proves, that for almost all \((\beta_1,\beta_2,\tau_1,\tau_2)\in (0,0.6490)^2\times(0,1)^2\), we have \[ \mathop{\dim_H}\Lambda_{(\beta_1,\beta_2,\tau_1,\tau_2)}= \mathop{\dim_B} \Lambda_{(\beta_1,\beta_2,\tau_1,\tau_2)}=d+1 \] where \(d\) is the solution of \(\beta_1\tau_1^x+\beta_2\tau_2^x=1\).
