The James type Banach spaces \(J(Q)\) consisting of the families \(\{x_q\}_{q\in Q}\) of real numbers indexed by an arbitrary partially ordered set \(Q\) are studied. The first proposition asserts that if \(Q_1\) and \(Q_2\) are order-isomorphic, then \(J(Q_1)\) is isometric to \(J(Q_2)\). A representation about contents of the paper can give the following piece from the authors well-written introduction: ``Among other preliminary results in Section 3, each countable infinity partially ordered index-set \(Q\) is shown to always contain an infinite subset \(\Gamma\) such that \(J(\Gamma)\) is \(\ell_2\)-saturated. In Section 4, the problem of existence of Schauder bases is studied. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given an the index-set \(Q\) that induce a natural Schauder basis \(\{e_n\}_{n\in Q}\) under some enumeration of \(Q\). James' technique for producing a monotone basis is sharpened and generalized to arbitrary linearly ordered index-sets. In Section 5, necessary or sufficient conditions are given on \(Q\) for quasireflexivity of \(J(Q)\) or separability of its dual \(J(Q)^{\star}\)''.
