Consider complex analytic maps \(f:M^*\to N^{*+k}\) \((k>0)\). For \(f\) nice enough the closure of the \(r\)-tuple points of \(f\) in the source and in the target determines cohomology classes \(m_r(f)\), \(n_r(f)\). The so-called multiple-point formulas of the title are cohomological identities in the cohomology ring of the source manifold involving these \(m_r\)'s, \(f^*(n_r)\)'s and the Chern classes of the map, valid for certain \(f\)'s. Since in the case of Thom polynomials the incident classes in consideration are trivial [\textit{R. Rimányi}, Invent. Math. 143, No.~3, 499--521 (2001; Zbl 0985.32012)], in the case of multiple-point formulas they are nontrivial and their computation is possible using the techniques of ``global singularity theory'' [\textit{R. Rimányi, A. Szücs}, Topology 37, No.~6, 1177--1191 (1998; Zbl 0924.57035)]. For the corank 1 this leads the author to reproving results from [\textit{S. L. Kleiman}, Proc. Math. 24, 237--252 (1982; Zbl 0503.14023) and Enumerative geometry, Proc. Conf., Sitges/Spain 1987, Lect. Notes. Math. 1436, 101--138 (1990; Zbl 0714.14036)], and for higher corank singularities to some modification of Katz's last formula and to some new results.
