Silting theory can be viewed as an adaptation of tilting theory to triangulated categories, and it is a useful tool to study decompositions and localizations of categories both at abelian and triangulated levels. In the case of the unbounded derived category of a module category, silting and cosilting objects can be interpreted as generalizations of tilting and cotilting complexes. Furthermore, silting and cosilting complexes can be understood as derived analogues of tilting and cotilting modules.\N\NLet \(A\) be a ring. R. Zhu, J. Wei, and Z. Di study the behavior of silting objects in derived categories of module categories under special base changes with respect to the rings \(A_x\) and \(A/xA\), where \(x\) is a regular element in \(A\). The authors prove that any silting object in \(\mathbf{D}(A)\) gives rise to silting objects in \(\mathbf{D}(A_x)\) and \(\mathbf{D}(A/xA)\) after localization and passing to quotient, respectively. On the other hand, it is proved that an object in \(\mathbf{D}(A)\) is silting if its corresponding localization and quotient are silting in \(\mathbf{D}(A_x)\) and \(\mathbf{D}(A/xA)\), respectively, with the presumption of some mild conditions.
