Throughout the paper, all groups are finite.\NLet \(p\) be a prime. For a non-trivial \(p\)-group \(P\), let \(d\) be the smallest number of generators needed to generate \(P\) and let \(\mathcal{M}_{d}(P)\) be an arbitrary set of \(d\) maximal subgroups of \(P\) with the property that \(\bigcap\limits_{P_{1}\in \mathcal{M}_{d}(P)}P_{1}=\Phi(P)\).~Let \(H\) be a subgroup of a group \(G\); then \(H\) is called an \(ss\)-quasinormal subgroup of \(G\) if there exists \(B\leq G\) such that \(G=HB\) and \(H\) permutes with every Sylow subgroup of \(B\).~Let \(H\) be a subgroup of a group \(G\); then \(H\) is called a \(CSS\)-subgroup of \(G\) if there exists \(T\unlhd G\) such that \(G=HT\) and \(H\cap T\) is an \(ss\)-quasinormal subgroup of \(G\).~In this paper, the authors prove the following result.~Let \(p\) be a prime dividing the order of a group \(G\) with \((|G|, p-1)=1\), \(L\unlhd G\) such that \(G/L\) is \(p\)-nilpotent, and \(P\in \mathrm{Syl}_{p}(L)\).~If \(N_{G}(P)\) is \(p\)-nilpotent and every member of some fixed \(\mathcal{M}_{d}(P)\), without a \(p\)-nilpotent supplement in \(G\), is a \(CSS\)-subgroup of \(G\), then \(G\) is \(p\)-nilpotent.
