Maximal Jordan algebras of matrices with bounded number of eigenvalues (Q701354)

This paper is concerned with maximal irreducible Jordan algebras of matrices having the property that all elements have at most \(k\) distinct eigenvalues and some member has exactly \(k\) distinct eigenvalues and studies automorphisms of Jordan algebras. These are taken over an algebraically closed field of characteristic other than 2. For \(k>2\) the only one is the full algebra of \(k\times k\) matrices. For \(k=2\) there is an infinite family of these Jordan algebras which is determined.
