A norm \(\|.\|\) on \(\mathbb{C}^2\) is said to be an absolute normalized norm if \(\|(z,w)\|=\|(|z|,|w|)\|\) for every \((z,w)\in \mathbb{C}^2\) and \(\|(1,0)\|= \|(0,1)\|= 1\). It is well-known that associated with such a norm is a continuous convex function \(\psi\) defined on \([0,1]\) by \(\psi (t) = \|(1-t,t)\|\). The authors show in this paper that an absolute normalized norm on \(\mathbb{C}^2\) is strictly convex if and only if the associated convex function is strictly convex.
