The following 3-component reaction-diffusion system is considered \[ \varepsilon \tau u_t = \varepsilon^2 D u_{xx} + f(u,v),\qquad v_t = v_{xx} + g(u,v) \] where \((u,v)=(u_1,u_2,v)\) denotes the population densities of three competing species, such that the first two species diffuse slowly but react faster than the third one. Under the assumption that two stable equilibrium states \(P_\pm\) exist, the authors study the existence, multiplicity and stability of travelling wave solutions connecting \(P_-\) with \(P_+\), using a singular perturbation technique and the so called SLEP method.
