The author provides an extension of a \(q\)-supercongruence of \textit{W. Zudilin} and himself [Adv. Math. 346, 329--358 (2019; Zbl 1464.11028)], which in turn is a common generalization of two classical supercongruences of \textit{L. van Hamme} [Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 192, 223--236 (1997; Zbl 0895.11051)]. In the proof several tools are combined with a fine technique, including various properties of cyclotomic polynomials and basic hypergeometric series. Some interesting corollaries are also given, and two conjectures are formulated as well.
