Given an lc log Calabi-Yau pair \((X, D)\), the regularity \(\mathrm{reg}(X, D)\) is defined as the dimension of the dual complex of the dlt modification of \((X, D)\), which at most takes the value \(\dim X-1\). The coregularity is defined as \(\mathrm{coreg}(X, D)=\dim X-1-\mathrm{reg}(X, D)\). For a given Fano variety \(X\), the regularity is defined as \(\mathrm{reg}(X):=\sup_D \mathrm{reg}(X, D)\), where \(D\) runs over all lc complements; the coregularity \(\mathrm{coreg}(X)\) is thus defined as \(\dim X-1-\mathrm{reg}(X)\).\N\NThe article under review studies the coregularity for smooth Fano three folds. It is well known that there are 105 families of smooth Fano three folds. The article proves that for 100 out of the 105 families of smooth Fano threefolds, a general member in the family has coregularity 0; for 92 families out of these 100, any member in the family has coregularity 0. For the remaining 5 families, the article shows that there exist families of smooth Fano threefolds whose general elements have positive coregularity.
