[The articles of this volume will not be indexed individually.] This volume contains 22 papers elaborated by a single or by many authors, members of Australian and French universities, Australian and French government laboratories (CNRS, CSTRO, DSTO, INRIA, ONERA), and of private industry. ``The main purpose was to explore new computational methods and tools for efficient multidisciplinary design in aeronautics'' (Noel Barton and Jacques Periaux, editors of the volume.) The volume is divided into six chapters: 1. Fluids; 2. Structures; 3. Electromagnetics; 4. Optimisation; 5. Mathematical methods and tools; 6. Aircraft design. In each of the papers one can seen the connection between many disciplines and methods relevant to the studied physical phenomena. ``Simplified models with separated physical effects are not adequate for these real complex systems. The aeronautics requires a scientific effort with both multidisciplinary and multiscale approaches'' (J. J. Gagnepain, CNRS). The scientifical meeting ends with a round table discussion entitled: ``Future tools for design and manufacture of innovative products in the aeronautical industry''. Additionally, the volume contains a short ``Curriculum vitae'' of the participants in the round table discussions. One balance, the proceedings give a comprehensive picture of the actual situation in the aeronautics.
