The author derives closed form expressions for the distribution function of the workload in the tandem and priority queues, both with periodic and Poisson arrivals for which only Laplace transforms are available [eg., \textit{H. Takagi}, ``Queueing analysis. A foundation of performance evaluation. Vol. 1: Vacation and priority systems, part 1'' (1991; Zbl 0744.60114)]. Brownian bridge approximations are also obtained and numerically illustrated. Interesting directions for further research are indicated.
