Let \(\varphi\) be a \(C^{1+\beta}\) flow with positive speed on a closed smooth Riemannian manifold \(N\). Let \(\mu_1\) and \(\mu_2\) be two \(\varphi\)-invariant hyperbolic probabilities which are homoclinically related, i.e., for \(\mu_1\)-a.e. \(x\in N\) and \(\mu_2\)-a.e. \(y\in N\) there exist transverse intersections \N\[\NW^s(x)\pitchfork W^u(y)\neq\emptyset\text{ and } W^u(x)\pitchfork W^s(y)\neq\emptyset. \N\]\NIn such a setting the authors prove that the flow \(\varphi\) is conjugate to an irreducible countable topological Markov flow with Hölder continuous conjugation having full support with respect to \(\mu_1\) and \(\mu_2\).\N\NAs an application, the authors give a proof of a theorem of \textit{G. Knieper} [Ann. Math. (2) 148, No. 1, 291--314 (1998; Zbl 0946.53045)] on the uniqueness of the measure of maximal entropy for geodesic flows on rank-1 manifolds and theorems of \textit{K. Burns} et al. [Geom. Funct. Anal. 28, No. 5, 1209--1259 (2018; Zbl 1401.37038)] on the uniqueness of equilibrium states for geodesic flows in nonpositive curvature.
