In this paper the base field \(\pmb k\) is algebraically closed of characteristic zero. In this context the Macaulay Inverse System for a standard graded, Artinian Gorenstein \(\pmb k\)-algebra may as well be a homogeneous polynomial \(H\).\N\NThe question is ``Which polynomials \(H\) correspond to a complete intersection?'' The answer is that one needs a candidate for the complete intersection inside \(\operatorname{ann} H\) and one needs to verify that the Jacobian of the candidate is not in \(\operatorname{ann} H\).\N\N\NOne can verify that the resultant of the candidate is non-zero and thereby avoid Gröbner bases. It is clear that the resultant calculation will work better than the Gröbner basis calculation if there are parameters involved. In particular, the paper gives a short new prove of the Theorem of Elias and Rossi that \(\operatorname{ann} H_{\lambda}\) is a complete intersection when \(H_\lambda\), is an elliptic non Fermat curve\N\[\NH_\lambda=y_1^2y_2-y_0(y_0-y_2)(y_0-\lambda y_2),\N\]\Nwith \(\lambda^2-\lambda+1\neq 0\).
