The paper presents the development of a high-order discontinuous Galerkin solver for Maxwell's equations in the time domain. Spatial discretization is achieved by Taylor expansion monomial basis functions and time integration is performed by the fourth-order Runge--Kutta scheme. The solver is implemented in an unstructured parallel framework and is validated with polynomials of up to third order. To validate and assess the accuracy of the solver, scattering results for a number of three-dimensional test cases are presented, including a microstrip patch antenna. Solutions are computed with both tetrahedral and hexahedral elements. The test targets feature sharp edges and tip singularities, which are difficult to model accurately for most computational methods. The accurate results demonstrate that the scheme has the potential to become a general-purpose tool for time-domain simulations in electromagnetics.
