    Consider the lattice dynamical system \[ {dx_{ij}\over dt}= -x_{ij}+ z+ \sum_{|k|+|l|\leq d} a_{kl} f(x_{i+k, j+l}),\quad (i,j)\in \mathbb{Z}^2.\tag{\(*\)} \] Let \(\theta\in\mathbb{R}\) be given. The problem of existence of a travelling wave \(x_{ij}(t)= x(i\cos\theta+ j\sin\theta- ct)\) of \((*)\) leads to a problem of the type \[ -cx'(s)= G(x(s+ r_0), x(s+ r_1),\dots, x(s+ r_N)),\tag{\(**\)} \] where \(r_0= 0\), \(r_i\) (\(1\leq i\leq N\)), is a real number. The author proves the existence of a monotone solution \(\overline x(t)\) of \((**)\) satisfying \[ \lim_{s\to-\infty}\,\overline x(s)= x^0,\quad \lim_{s\to+\infty}\, \overline x(s)= x^+. \] For the proof, problem \((**)\) is formulated as an equivalent fixed point problem. Under certain conditions, the fixed point theorem of Schauder can be applied.
