The problem of recognizing algebraic surfaces from single apparent contours is an interesting and active area of research. In the papers [\textit{J. D'Almeida}, Duke Math. J. 65, No. 2, 229--233 (1992; Zbl 0766.14018); \textit{D. A. Forsyth}, ``Recognizing algebraic surfaces from their outlines'', in: 1993 (4th) International Conference on Computer Vision. 476--480 (1993)], one can see that for the case of smooth surfaces the reconstruction is possible, up to projective equivalence, from a single apparent contour. These results have been generalized to the case of surfaces with some particular ordinary singularities (nodal curves, transversal triple points, and pinch points); see [\textit{M. Gallet} et al., SIAM J. Appl. Algebra Geom. 3, No. 3, 472--506 (2019; Zbl 1427.14118)].\N\NIn this current, interesting, paper, the authors use the fact that Darboux cyclides have a singularity along the absolute conic in order to approach the problem up to Euclidean similarity transformations.
