On the solutions of the difference equation \(x_{n+1}=\frac {x_{n-1}} {-1+ax_{n}x_{n-1}}\) (Q702630)

The author studies the difference equation \(x_{n+1}= \frac{x_{n-1}}{-1+ax_nx_{n-1}}\), \(n = 0, 1, 2 \ldots\). For the case \(ax_{-1}x_0\not= 1\) he obtains the expressions of the even and odd terms of the solution of this equation in terms of \(a, x_{-1}\) and \(x_0\). Using his estimations, the author deduces diverse asymptotic properties.
