A subgroup \(H\) of a finite group \(G\) is said to be \(S\)-semipermutable in \(G\) if \(H\) permutes with every Sylow subgroup of \(G\) of order coprime to it. \textit{B. Huppert} [Arch. Math. 15, 251--257 (1964; Zbl 0122.03201)] obtained the structure and properties of finite groups with all Sylow subgroups \(S\)-semipermutable, \textit{L. Wang} et al. [Int. J. Algebra 2, No. 1--4, 143--152 (2008; Zbl 1181.20024)] gave the structure and properties of finite groups with all subgroups \(S\)-semipermutable. The authors aim to give local versions of these results, considering the class \(\mathcal B_p\) of groups \(G\) with all Sylow \(p\)-subgroups \(S\)-semipermutable and the class \(\overline{\mathcal B}_p\) of groups \(G\) with all \(p\)-subgroups \(S\)-semipermutable, where \(p\) is a fixed prime dividing the order of \(G.\) The class \(\mathcal B_p\) is a subgroup closed formation. If \(G\in \mathcal B_p,\) there are no restrictions on \(O_p(G)\) but there are strong restrictions on \(G/O_p(G).\) On the contrary, \(\overline{\mathcal B}_p\) is not a formation and \(O_p(G)\) plays an important role in the structure of \(G\in \overline{\mathcal B}_p\).
