A systematic study of special functions of hyperbolic type has begun only recently, starting from the fundamental definition of the hyperbolic gamma function by \textit{S. N. M. Ruijsenaars} [J. Math. Phys. 38, No. 2, 1069--1146 (1997; Zbl 0877.39002)]. A basic step for this study is the derivation of beta integrals of hyperbolic type. In this paper the author determines hyperbolic analogues of the Ramanujan integral, the Askey-Wilson integral and Nassrallah-Rahman integral. These beta integrals depend on two deformation parameters \((q,\tilde{q})\) related by modular inversion. The proofs are based on some interesting techniques of folding and fusion of integrals, observing that hyperbolic beta integrals are obtained from the fusion of a trigonometric sum and a trigonometric integral. A further application of these techniques leads the author to the derivation of Cherednik's one-variable Macdonald-Mehta integral as a consequence of the trigonometric analogue of the Askey-Wilson integral. Finally, the author proves that the hyperbolic Nassrallah-Rahman integral can be formally obtained as limit of Spiridonov's elliptic analogue of the Nassrallah-Rahman integral.
