The authors examine the thermosolutal instability of rotating incompressible viscocoelastic fluid in an isotropic and homogeneous porous medium confined between two planes. Rivlin-Ericksen model has been used to characterize viscoelastic fluid. The layer is heated from below and is acted upon by magnetic field and variable gravity. Adopting the standard techniques, the dispersion relation has been obtained. The effects of stable solute gradient, magnetic field and medium permeability on the stability have been analysed. The effect of viscoelastic parameter should have been discussed in greater detail.
