Let \(G\) be a connected reductive complex algebraic group, let \(\check G\) be the dual group of \(G\), let \(G_{\mathbb R}\) be a real form of \(G\), and let \(\text{Gr}_{\mathbb R}\) be the loop Grassmannian of \(G_{\mathbb R}\). The aim of the paper is to identify a certain tensor category of perverse sheaves on \(\text{Gr}_{\mathbb R}\) with the category of finite-dimensional representations of a connected reductive complex algebraic subgroup \(\check H\) of \(\check G\) whose root system is closely related to the restricted root system of \(G_{\mathbb R}\). It is shown that the fact that \(\check H\) is reductive implies that an interesting family of real algebraic maps satisfies the conclusion of the decomposition theorem of Beilinson-Bernstein-Deligne [Théorème 6.2.5 of \textit{A. A. Beilinson, J. Bernstein, P. Deligne}, ``Faisceaux pervers'', Asterisque 100 (1982; Zbl 0536.14011)].
