The authors apply the generalized Leggett-Williams fixed-point theorem of functional type to the second-order four-point boundary value problem \[ x''(t)+q(t)\,f(t,\,x(t),\,x'(t))=0,\qquad 0< t< 1,\quad x(0)=a\,x(\xi),\qquad x(1)=b\,x(\eta), \] and obtain the existence of three positive solutions. The main trait of the paper is that it allows the nonlinear term \(f\) to involve the derivative term \(x'(t)\).
