An explicit construction of integrable models on two dimensional manifolds with a cubic first integral is presented. It is shown that an appropriate choice of coordinates allows for integration and gives the explicit local form for the full family of intrgrable systems. The metric on the manifold is determined by a finite number of parameters which lead to a large class of models. First, one considers the class of models whose leading terms are characterized by two real coefficients p and q. Then, the special case where \(q = 0\) is integrated by reducing the differential system to a second order non-linear ODE and the global issues are discussed. The case \(q > 0\) is analyzed in details linearizing, by an appropriate choice of coordinates, the possibly non-linear ODE encountered in other approaches. It is proven that, using the explicit form of the metric, it is possible to determine on which manifold the metric is defined. Finally, it is checked that all the explicit integrable models given in the literature are recovered as a special case.
