Let \(G\) be a non-soluble \(p\)-group for some prime \(p\) all of whose proper subgroups are soluble. The authors' first of two theorems concerning such a \(G\) states that if \(G\) is locally nilpotent with trivial centre, then there is a positive integer \(t\) such that for every proper normal subgroup \(N\) of \(G\) either \(N\) or its centralizer in \(G\) has derived length less than \(t\). Their second theorem concerns the case where \(G\) is a Fitting group and produces a non-trivial image of \(G\) with a relatively strong but rather complex solubility condition. The authors consider their paper a continuation of [\textit{A. Arıkan}, J. Group Theory 11, No. 1, 95-103 (2008; Zbl 1138.20038)].
