An extremal property of a special class of polynomials of even degree with coefficients \(\pm 1\) was given by \textit{P. Borwein, K.-K. S. Choi} and \textit{S. Yazdani} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 129, No. 1, 19-27 (2001; Zbl 0987.11010)]. This paper conjectures a similar property for polynomials of odd degree, and verifies it in a number of special cases.
