On a coupled nonlinear singular thermoelastic system (Q708652)

The authors study an initial boundary value problem for a nonlinear singular system of thermoelasticity in the case of a one-dimensional space. This is a dificult problem because the classical boundary condition is replaced by a nonlocal one, namely, the boundary condition is of a weighted boundary integral condition type. Also, one of the equations of the system contains a memory term. For the reasons, firstly, the author solve only a particular case of the problem. In fact, the authors give a uniqueness result for the linear form of the formulated (nonlinear) problem. Based on this particular result, an existence and uniqueness result for the nonlinear problem is proved.
