For every eigenvalue \(\lambda\) of the Dirac operator \(D\) on a compact spin Kähler manifold \(M\) of positive scalar curvature \(S\) and even (odd) complex dimension \(m\), one knows the estimate \[ \lambda^2\geq {m\over 4(m-1)} S_0\Biggl(\lambda^2\geq {m+1\over 4m} S_0\Biggr),\tag{1} \] where \(S_0\) is the minimum of \(S\) on \(M\). For odd complex dimension \(r\), the corresponding limiting manifolds (i.e., when the above inequality is an equality) are Einstein. However, for even \(m\geq 4\), the limiting manifolds are not Einstein. This leads to the conjecture that the above estimate can be improved in the case of Kähler-Einstein manifolds of even complex dimension. In the article under review, the author shows that the conjecture is true. In fact, he proves that there is the estimate \[ \lambda^2\geq {m+2\over 4m} S.\tag{2} \] Moreover, examples of limiting manifolds for the estimate (2) are given.
