A fractional diffusion equation with advection and a localized source term is studied. It is shown that blow-up cannot be prevented regardless of the advection speed. Increasing the advection speed will only delay the blow-up time. This is in contrast with the analogous problem with classical diffusion, in which blow-up can be prevented by increasing sufficiently the advection speed.
