Let the \(m\times m\) complex matrix \(R\) (resp. the \(n\times n\) complex matrix \(S\)) be a nontrivial involution matrix (i.e. \(R=R^{-1}\neq \pm I\), resp. \(S=S^{-1}\neq \pm I\)). An \(m\times n\) complex matrix \(A\) is \((R,S)\)-symmetric (resp. \((R,S)\)-skew symmetric) if \(RAS=A\) (resp. \(RAS=-A\)). The authors consider (systems of) three matrix equations: \(A_1XB_1=C\); \(A_1Y=D_1\), \(YB_2=D_2\) and \(A_1Z=D_1\), \(ZB_2=D_2\), \(A_3Z=D_3\), \(ZB_4=D_4\) with \((R,S)\)-symmetric or \((R,S)\)-skew symmetric unknown matrices. They give necessary and sufficient conditions for solvability and express the solutions.
