Let \(E\) be a graded division algebra. Then \(S=M_n(E)\) is a simple graded algebra. In the article under review, the authors introduce the homogeneous Whitehead group \(\text{SK}_1^h(S)\) which treats only the homogeneous units of \(S\). Then they establish a short exact sequence relating \(\text{SK}_1^h(S)\) to \(\text{SK}_1(E)\) which allows to calculate \(\text{SK}_1^h(S)\) in many cases. In particular, it is shown that the homogeneous \(\text{SK}_1^h\) is not in general Morita invariant. They prove also the existence and multiplicativity of a Dieudonné determinant for homogeneous elements of \(S\).
