In this interesting paper, the authors give improvements of conditions for the uniqueness of \(g\)-measures on the full shift space on a finite alphabet \(A\) and show that, under these conditions, these measures have natural extensions which are Bernoulli. More precisely, the main result is that these measures are unique and have the Bernoulli property, if one of the following conditions is satisfied: \(\bullet\) \, \(\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} (\text{var}_n \log g)^2\) converges, \(\bullet\) \, for each \(\epsilon>0\), the series \(\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} \exp(-(1/2 + \epsilon) (\text{var}_1 \log g+ ... +\text{var}_n \log g))\) diverges, \(\bullet \,\) \(\text{var}_n \log g = o(1/\sqrt{n})\), for \(n\) tending to infinity. Here, \(\text{var}_n f:= \sup _{(a_1,...,a_n)\in A^n} \sup_{x,y \in [a_1,...,a_n]} |f(x)-f(y)|\) refers to the \(n\)-th variation of a function \(f\), where \([a_1,...,a_n]\) denotes an \(n\)-cylinder in the full shift space on the finite alphabet \(A\).
