Let \(\mathcal{A}\) and \(\mathcal{B}\) be two algebras and let \(\mathcal{M}\) be a \(\mathcal{B}\)-bimodule. Suppose that \(\sigma:\mathcal{A} \rightarrow \mathcal{B}\) is a linear mapping. A linear mapping \(d:\mathcal{A} \rightarrow \mathcal{M}\) is called a \(\sigma\)-derivation if \(d(ab) = d(a) \sigma(b) + \sigma(a) d(b)\) for all \(a,b \in \mathcal{A}\). In the paper under review, the authors focus on \(\sigma\)-derivations on Banach algebras. The authors first give several results about automatic continuity of \(\sigma\)-derivations on Banach algebras. Then, the concept of \(m\)-weakly continuity of linear mappings between Banach algebras is given, and the \(m\)-weakly continuity of \(\sigma\)-derivations is discussed. Finally, the authors give the relation between the range of \(\sigma\)-derivations on \(\mathcal A\) and the Jacobson radical of \(\mathcal A\), where \(\mathcal A\) is a commutative Banach algebra.
