Given a quaternionic vector space \(E\), with associated twistor space \(Z\equiv \mathbb{S}^2\) of admissible complex structures, the authors define a linear CR quaternionic structure on a real vector space \(U\) by an injective linear map \(\iota: U \to E\) such that any \(J\in Z\) defines a CR structure on \(U\), that is \(\iota(U)+J\iota(U)=E\). A linear co-CR quaternionic structure on \(U\) is given by a surjective linear map \(\rho:E \to U\) that induces a linear CR quaternionic structure \(\rho^*: U^*\to E^*\). Given such a CR quaternionic vector space \((U,E, \iota)\), with \(\mathrm{dim}\, E=4k\), the authors define a holomorphic vector bundle \(\mathcal{E}=Z\times E\) over \(Z=\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^1\), isomorphic to \(2k\mathcal{O}(1)\), whose fiber over each \(J\in Z\) is \(E\) with the complex structure \(J\), and \(\mathcal{E}\) can be seen as the quotient of \(Z\times E^{\mathbb{C}}\) through \(E^{(0,1)}\) (w.r.t \(J\)). A corresponding holomorphic vector bundle \(\mathcal{U}=E^{(0,1)}\cap (Z\times U^{\mathbb{C}})\) of \((U,E, \iota)\) is also defined, and it is a CR submanifold of \(\mathcal{E}\). The quotient of \(Z\times U^{\mathbb{C}}\) through \(\mathcal{U}\) is also shown to be isomorphic to \(2k\mathcal{O}(1)\). The holomorphic vector bundle of a co-CR quaternionic vector space \((U,E, \rho)\) is defined as the dual of the holomorphic vector bundle of \((U^*,E^*, \rho^*)\). An explicit classification of co-CR quaternionic vector spaces is obtained via a functorial map into the category of holomorphic vector bundles over \(\mathbb{CP}^1\). The above concepts are extended to define an almost CR quaternionic manifold \((M,E,\iota)\), where \(E\) is a quaternionic vector bundle over \(M\) and \(\iota: TM \to E\) an injective morphism, and the authors define an almost CR quaternionic connection on \((M,E,\iota)\) as a connection \(\nabla\) on \(E\) which preserves its quaternionic structure \(Q\) (spanned by the bundle \(Z\to M\) of admissible linear complex structures of \(E\)), and it is quaternionic if it is torsion free, i.e., \(T=d^{\nabla} \iota=0\) (a precise definition is given in an appendix). Such almost CR quaternionic connection defines a natural almost CR structure \(\mathcal{C}\) on the total space of \(Z\), that is said to be integrable in case \(\mathcal{C}\) is integrable. The space \((Z,\mathcal{C})\) is named the almost twistor structure of \((M,E,\iota,\nabla)\), and the twistor space in case integrability holds. Equivalent conditions for integrability are given using a characterization involving the curvature and torsion forms. If \(\nabla\) is a quaternionic connection on \((M,E, \iota)\) and \(4k\geq \dim M\geq 2k+1\), with \(\dim M\neq 2k +2\), then the authors prove that the almost twistorial structure is integrable. They give some examples. If \(M\) is an embedded submanifold of codimension \(l\) of a complex manifold \(N\) of real dimension \(2k\), with \(\mathcal{C}= T^{\mathbb{C}}M\cap (T^{0,1}N)_{|M}\) of real dimension \(k-l\), and an involutive CR diffeomorphism of CR manifolds \(\tau:(M,\mathcal{C})\to (M,\bar{\mathcal{C}})\) is defined, then \((M,\mathcal{C},\tau)\) is a realizable CR manifold with \(\tau\) the restriction of a conjugation. The authors prove that the quaternionic twistor space \((Z, \mathcal{C})\) of a CR quaternionic manifold \((M,E,\iota, \nabla)\) is realizable with respect to the antipodal map \(\tau\) on the fibres if and only if \((M,E,\iota, \nabla)\) is realizable as a CR quaternionic manifold, that is, \(M\) is an embedded submanifold of a quaternionic manifold \(N\) with twistor space \(Z_N\) and s.t. \(E=TN_{|M}\) and \(\mathbb{C}=T^{\mathbb{C}}Z \cap (T^{0,1}Z_N)_{|M}\). Moreover, if \((M,E,\iota, \nabla)\) is a real-analytical CR quaternionic manifold, then the corresponding embedding into a quaternionic manifold \(N\) is germ unique. In this case, the authors name \(N\) the even space of \((M,E,\iota, \nabla)\).
