    The Navier problem is to find a solution to the steady-state Navier-Stokes equations such that the normal component of the velocity and a linear combination of the tangential components of the velocity and the traction assume prescribed data at the boundary. If the solution is sought in an exterior domain, it is required that the velocity converges to a constant vector at infinity. The authors prove that such a solution exists in a bounded domain with diameter less than a computable positive constant, and the solution is unique if the sum of norms of data for velocity and traction is sufficiently small.
