This monograph consists of two books each of which consists of three chapters. The contents of the chapters is as follows. Chapter 1 contains `Solutions of dynamic problems based on the refined model' and includes: 1. Free vibrations of rectangular plates; 2. Free vibrations of shallow shells; 3. Free vibrations of closed and open cylindrical shells; 4. Free vibrations of cylindrical shells made of functionally graded materials. Chapter 2 contains `Some solutions of stationary problems based on 3D theory' and includes: 1. Stress-strain state of anisotropic cylinders of finite length; 2. Stress-strain state of heterogeneous cylinders of finite length; 3. Free vibrations of anisotropic heterogeneous cylinders of finite length. Each topic starts with an introduction and is followed by the problem formulation, the problem solution procedure, and numerical results. The effects of thickness variations, mechanical parameters, boundary conditions and the type of loads on the behaviour of the displacement, stresses, natural frequencies and mode shapes are presented. At the end of each chapter, a large number of references are provided for further reading. The discrete-continuous numerical-analytic approach is proposed by the authors. It is based on a combined application of the spline-collocation and discrete-orthogonalization methods. The book is essentially a collection of papers published by the authors over a period of time in various journals.
