Droz-Farny line theorem: Two perpendicular lines through the orthocenter of a triangle (the point of intersection of the three altitudes) intercept on the sides of the triangle three segments whose midpoints are collinear. The authors give an introduction to the ideas of Bachmann's group theoretic axiomatic foundation of geometry. In this context, they discuss the Droz-Farny line theorem, a generalization, the theorem of Goormaghtigh, more generalizations in three directions, and a further generalization, the Euclidean counterpairing theorem. The authors proceed with further investigations into Bachmann's absolute geometry, where they give a proof of the dual theorem of Goormaghtigh.
