Let \(G\) be a finite group of even order, \((K,\mathcal{O}, F)\) a \(2\)-modular system where \(\mathcal{O}\) is a complete discrete valuation ring of characteristic 0. \(K\) is the field of fractions of \(\mathcal{O}\), a splitting field for \(G\), and \(F = \mathcal{O}/ J(\mathcal{O}) = \mathcal{O}/(\pi) \) is an algebraically closed field of characteristic 2. Let \(B\) be a non-nilpotent block of \(G\) with respect to \(F\). Suppose that \(B\) has an elementary abelian defect group of order 16 and only one irreducible Brauer character. The authors, motivated by the papers [\textit{R. Kessar}, J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 85, No. 2, 491--510 (2012; Zbl 1264.20013)] and [\textit{B. Külshammer} and \textit{B. Sambale}, Represent. Theory 17, 226--236 (2013; Zbl 1311.20008)] describe the algebra structure of \(Z(B)\) in connection with the abelian defect group conjecture by \textit{M. Broué} [in: Représentations linéaires des groupes finis. Colloque, Luminy, France, 16--21 mai 1988. Paris: Société Mathématique de France. 61--92 (1990; Zbl 0704.20010)]. Numerical invariants of \(B\) have been determined in [Külshammer and Sambale, loc. cit.], in particular, the number of irreducible ordinary characters (of height 0) of \(B\) is \(k(B) = k_0(B) = 8\), while in the present paper the authors describe the isomorphism type of the centre \(Z(B)\cong F[X,Y,Z_1,\ldots,Z_4]/\langle X^2+1, Y^2+ 1, (X + 1)Z_i, (Y + 1)Z_i , Z_iZ_j\rangle\). The proof requires delicate calculations.
