Suppose a \(C^1\) system of ordinary differential equations \(\dot x = X(x)\) on \({\mathbb R}^n\) possesses a weakly hyperbolic compact invariant set \(K\) (according to the lengthy technical definition of ``weakly hyperbolic set'' given in the paper). It was shown in an earlier work of the authors that if the stable, neutral, and unstable linear spaces of the corresponding linear systems satisfy a Lipschitz condition then any nearby perturbation \(\dot x = Y(x)\) has a weakly hyperbolic invariant set \(K^Y\) which is homeomorphic to \(K\) and the dynamics on \(K^Y\) are close to those on \(K\). However, systems for which the Lipschitz property fails are generic. Here, the authors prove that under a suitable weaker condition replacing the Lipschitz condition the perturbed system possesses a weakly hyperbolic invariant set \(K^Y\) and there exists a continuous mapping \(h\) for which \(h(K) = K^Y\) and which preserves a certain leaf structure.
